Hello, my name is Amber Torres, and I am excited about being the school nurse at Aldridge this year! Although I have worked as a school nurse previously, my experience also includes pediatric home health and medical surgical nursing (surgical specialties) at Parkland Hospital. I have served as a Baylor Nursing School Instructor at Parkland as well for Level 1 and Level 2 undergraduate nursing students. Additionally, I am pursuing my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with a focus on family medicine (family nurse practitioner) at Baylor. My husband and I have four children; my son Beau is in 1^st grade, my daughter Maxwell is in Kindergarten, my son Van is 2 years old, and my son Finn is 5 months old. My oldest two children are active in martial arts and I truly enjoy watching them learn!  As a school nurse, I believe communication is key.
